Renewable Energy Tour
The Government of Navarra was awarded by the European Union the prize for the best regional policy in fostering the use of renewable energy. In line with the advanced European Union environmental policy, Navarra is in the forefront of clean energy. Read Navarra's energy plan to learn Navarra's vision on its energy production for 2020.
In this tour, we had unique access to Navarra's renewable energy sector. It is important to know that one of the priorities of Navarra's current Regional Innovation Strategy (4th technology plan of Navarra 2012-2015) is to promote the collaboration between companies and research organizations in research, technological development, and innovation. In this policy context, we focused on Government of Navarra's partnership with research centers in developing, promoting, and implementing its innovative renewable energy policy in our visit to the following places:
* Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER, National Renewable Energy Center),
* an Acciona wind farm,
* the Naoin city hall,
* Centro de Recursos Ambientales de Navarra (CRANA, Navarran Environmental Resources Center), and
* Fundación para la Formación en Energías Renovables (CENÍFER)
